Little Hunting Park: Field Trip Camps

**Please note: This location is open to ALL (members AND non-members)! Members will receive a 10% - ask us for the code!
This summer we are offering 1 day Field Trip passes!
Sign up for any day that your camper might be interested in!
Field Trip Camp Details:
Camp Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm
**Campers will leave LHP by 8:40am to pick up other campers at our other location, Grace Episcopal. Campers will arrive back at LHP by 4:30pm.**
Transportation is included in the price!
Camps should bring or buy their own lunch depending on the Field Trip (please do not order lunch from Gator Grill).
**Field Trip Camps will not be cancelled but are subject to change, due to weather or other potential issues.
2018 Field Trip Camps
Monday, June 25th - Laser Tag & Bowling Tournament - Join us for a day of fun! In the morning, we will play laser tag in teams to battle for points. In the Afternoon, get ready for a bowling tournament against friends!
Tuesday, June 26th - Explore Mt. Vernon - Travel in colonial times and explore the world of our founding father. Walk around in the shoes of our first president.
Wednesday, June 27th - Go Ape - Join us on this high ropes course and zipline. Challenge yourself though building activities!
Thursday, June 28th - Rock Climbing & Roller Skating - Challenge yourself to new heights! Then, have a blast skating indoors with friends!
Friday, June 29th - Baltimore Aquarium - Let’s go to the Baltimore aquarium! Explore and see some shows!
Monday, July 2nd - National Zoo - Lions! Tigers! Bears! Oh my! Let’s ttake a tour and then participate in a scavenger hunt around the zoo!
Tuesday, July 3rd - Explore Burke Lake - We will start with a scenic train ride. During a hike and nature walk, campers will get the chance to explore and discover Burke Lake. Campers will have lunch at the playground and will get the chance to play and relax in the sun while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
Thursday, July 5th - Six Flags Maryland - Fun filled day with epic roller coasters and rides. Then, we will take a splash in the water park!
Friday, July 6th - Mini Golf & Flight Trampoline Park - Fun filled morning of mini golf! Then, let’s jump and flip around at Flight, the indoor trampoline park!
Monday, July 9th - Water Mine Water Park - Take a splash in the water park! Ride down some twisty slides!
Tuesday, July 10th - Baltimore Science Museum - Let’s spend the day exploring and learning about science!
Wednesday, July 11th - Sport Trip (Mystics Game) - Enjoy the day watching DC’s Women’s Basketball (WNBA) team take on Atlanta!
Thursday, July 12th - Kings Dominion - Fun filled day with epic rollercoasters and than take a splash in the water park!
Friday, July 13th - Shenandoah Valley - Take a walk and a horseback ride in the Shenandoah Valley!
Monday, July 16th - Maryland Fun - In the morning, we will take a hike on the Maryland side of Great Falls. In the afternoon, kids will jump, play, and run in the amazing zava zone! We will have races and competitions to see who can win the title of Zava Zone Champion!
Tuesday, July 17th - Museums - Kids will enjoy a jam packed day exploring our nation’s capital, and a couple of the many museums it has to offer. The day starts with a metro ride into DC to the National Building Museum. Then, they will learn about outer space and a world outside of our own in the Einstein Planetarium at the Air & Space Museum.
Wednesday, July 18th - US Botanical Gardens & Geo Museum - Become a Junior Botanist! Explore different plants in different climates. Then, let’s explore the National Geographic Museum!
Thursday, July 19th - Sport Rock - Today is filled with rock climbing fun! All kids will have fun at sport rock - all experience levels welcome!
Friday, July 20th - Indoor Speedway - Race your friends in a safe & fun indoor go kart environment!
Monday, July 23rd - Shenandoah Luray Caverns - Explore the caverns! Kids will get the chance to go spelunking and explore the secret underground caverns of Luray! We will finish the day with a hike.
Tuesday, July 24th - Climbzone - Have you ever climbed Mt Rushmore before? Climb fun weird objects at Climbzone in Maryland!
Wednesday, July 25th - Rafting on the Potomac Gorge - Today will be filled with rafting and adventuring down the Potomac Gorge!
Thursday, July 26th - Medieval Times and Dave & Busters - Let’s go back to the Medieval times to sit back and watch a jousting match! Afterwards we will head over to Dave & Busters to play some fun arcade games!
Friday, July 27th - Terrapin Adventures - Let’s do the Terrapin Challenge? Five major elements of fun - the zipline, high ropes course, climbing tower, terrapin flyer and giant swing!
Monday, July 30th - National Zoo - Lions! Tigers! Bears! Oh my! Let’s ttake a tour and then participate in a scavenger hunt around the zoo!
Tuesday, July 31st - Charlie Brown, Newseum & 4D Movie! - “Peanuts” gang comic brought to life in Summer 2018! Sit back and enjoy Charlie Brown play! We will also fill the day at Imagination Stage and head to the Newseum to learn about film!
Wednesday, August 1st - Mini Golf & Water Park - Let’s have fun playing a round of mini golf with friends and then head over to the water park to cool off and have some fun!
Thursday, August 2nd - Hiking & Ice Skating - Explore the wetlands, forest, and wildlife that’s right in our own backyard. After lunch, we will head over to the Mount Vernon Rec Center to cool down with some Ice Skating.
Friday, August 3rd - Kings Dominion - Fun filled day with epic rollercoasters and than take a splash in the water park!
Monday, August 6th - Roosevelt Island - Explore Roosevelt Island! Then, let’s race against the clock to escape out of the room!
Tuesday, August 7th - Spy Museum - Go back in time and learn about spies!
Wednesday, August 8th - Geocaching - Embark on a scavenger hunt around DC!
Thursday, August 9th - Nats Game - Atlanta Braves at Nats. Game starts at 1:05pm.
Friday, August 10th - Mt. Vernon - Travel back to colonial times and explore the world of our founding father. Walk around in the shoes of our first president. We may also have time for some sports fun!
Monday, August 13th - Laser Tag & Bowling Tournament - Join us for a day of fun! In the morning, we will play laser tag in teams to battle for points. In the Afternoon, get ready for a bowling tournament against friends!
Tuesday, August 14th - National Harbor & Tidal Basin - Take a ride on the ferris wheel to see the sights of DC. Then, we will head down to do paddle boats on the Tidal Basin!
Wednesday, August 15th - Movies & Science Place - Let’s come in from the summer heat to go to the movies! We will then have some fun participating in hands on science experiments.
Thursday, August 16th - Potomac Nationals baseball game - Watch the minor league Potomac Nationals take on Myrtle Beach at 12:05 pm!
Friday, August 17th - Indoor Water Park - Splash around and ride water slides in a indoor water park!
**For Field Trips - Camps will not be cancelled but are subject to change, due to weather or other potential issues.
Before camp starts for the day:
In the event of inclement weather, our Site Director/counselors will make phone calls to parents. Based on the days weather outlook, we will:
- Start camp at a later time
- Offer a substitute location, or
- Cancel camp
In the event of inclement weather, staff and campers will remain under the Baroody tent if light-medium rain. If heavy rain, thunder, lightning, etc. all staff and campers will seek shelter in the changing rooms/bathrooms. The Site Director/counselors will bring supplies (activities, first aid, meds) and contact information.
The Site Director/counselors will make phone calls to parents. Based on the rest of the days weather outlook, we will:
- Continue camp outside once weather subsides
- Cancel camp and request parents pick up campers
LHP and Baroody Camps Extreme Heat Policy:
- IF the temperature will reach 95 degrees, we will reduce camp hours to 9am-1pm. This camp day will include lunch time.
- IF the temperature will reach 100 degrees, we will cancel camps for the day. The option of attending a different location MAY be available.
*We will always notify parents if this policy is in effect or of any changes to the schedule.
SWIM & TENNIS PRACTICE/LESSONS POLICY:
Any child that needs to leave camp to go to practice/lessons must be signed out by an adult.
LHP instructors will likely agree to signing children out for their practice/lesson and then sign them back in after. Parents must make this arrangement with instructors and are required to add the instructor(s) as authorized pick up persons on their General Information Form (see the Site Director). Parents will no longer be permitted to sign campers into camps and then take them to practice.
- If an alternate camp location is offered, families will NOT be issued a refund even if camper does not attend.
- Refunds WILL BE issued if camp is canceled due to weather and NO alternate location is offered.
- If camp closes early due to inclement weather, NO refunds will be issued.
**Baroody Camps will give as much notice as possible.
